Greetings on this fair Pie-day!
Today is pie #3 Venison, sour cherries & kriekbier.
Liefmans kriekbier to be precise, or 'cuvee brut' as it seems to have been sadly rebranded, also losing it's lovely 'medieval-tinged' design & packing in the process, in favour of something shinier.
For those of you who are not beer-freaks, kriekbier is a beer made from cherries. And Liefmans is a Belgian Brewery who produces their own version of this beer style, a sour yet sweet hit of beer and cherry! This is not your average sickly sweet heavy handed fruit beer. And this may not be your average pie!
