FOOD DIY

Not so long ago I completed some work for the brilliant and well respected food writer (and editor of the quarterly Fire & Knives) Tim Hayward’s first book, FOOD DIY.
In his own words “a handbook of smoking, curing, preserving, baking and other manly pursuits.”

It was only shortly after designing some stuff for a certified vegan company that I found myself elbow deep in indian ink contemplating butchery cuts and the idea of ham made from a beloved stripy fiend of the British countryside. And I was in my element!

FOOD DIY How to Make Your Own Everything: sausages to smoked salmon, sourdough to sloe gin, bacon to buns is published by Penguin imprint Fig Tree in July! Go pre-order your copy at your local bookstore or the usual places!

Here’s a look at the final cover I did:

S for Salami, M for Market!

My local fair, Boscombe Vintage Market, was on the verge of becoming homeless the other week, but I am happy to say they'll be holding it for at least 2 more months in the same spot as before. I'll be there showing support and selling prints and so on, this saturday 10am - 4pm! Drop by if you're in the area.
I'll have a few new prints fresh from Pick Me Up and also a little sale and some one-off bargains!

Mo' Beer Mats!

New beer mats/business cards arrived last week!  You can see what going on on the front of the mats with all the fig. 1, fig. 2 shenanigans over at my website.... I've updated a few sections on there too!
Right.... it's pretty much the weekend so let's make these beer mats feel useful and loved!

PICK ME UP 2013

Just back from a few days at Pick Me Up, which was wonderful, and thought i'd share a couple of happy snaps of the space taken over by SOMA gallery & us (Tom Frost, Peskimo, Hazel Nicholls, Telegramme & me). It's on until Sunday, so you must go if you're in London!
More images to follow soon I'm sure....

From a day of printmaking...

Whilst printing a few last minute extras for Pick Me Up, which starts in a couple of days, my friend Mike (who made a great paper-chimp and general assistant for the day... ha!) snapped a few lovely sneaky snaps:
